1. I am still seeing an old photo after uploading a new one.

If you are seeing an old photo in the thumbnail image of your control panel entry after uploading a new photo, that is a cache issue. Cache is your web browser's memory, it is still remembering your old photo even though you uploaded a new photo.

First, after uploading the new photo, go to your actual website and view the page with the new photo. It should appear when you view the page, you may have to hit your refresh button once or twice for your browser to load the new image. If the new image appears, your upload was successful.

The old thumbnail image in your control panel will update once your browser's cache has been deleted and browser restarted. It will eventually update, but if you want to reset the cache manually, you can follow these instructions for Internet Explorer:

1. Go to your 'TOOLS' menu at the top.
2. Select 'INTERNET OPTIONS' at the bottom.
3. Click the 'DELETE FILES' button and the 'OK' button on the warning.
4. Click the 'OK' button at the bottom of the window to apply and close.
5. It is best to restart your browser and log back in to your control panel.

2. I am getting an 'Unsupported image type' error

This means that you are uploading an image which is not in a supported format. Web graphics should be .gif, .jpg, .jpeg or .png. Upon uploading, our system will compress slightly and save the image as a .jpeg.

3. How do I resize my photo to be smaller and upload faster?

Uploading a file which is not optimized can make your upload take a very long time or make your browser time out and stop. You can use any image editor to optimize your photo's, like Photoshop or others. You can also download a free application called 'IrfanView' to optimize your photos.

Instructions for using IrfanView

1. Download and install IrfanView
2. FILE > OPEN your image to optimize
3. IMAGE > RESIZE/RESAMPLE
4. Set the new size so that the largest number (either height or width) is 375 pixels. It will automatically update the smaller number in order to keep proportions.
5. Set the DPI to 72
6. Click OK

Now, you just have to save it and you are done:

7. FILE > SAVE AS
8. Select JPG - JPEG Files for the file type from the 'Save as type' menu at the bottom
9. Type a new filename to save your file as
10. You can set the quality at the highest on the options dialog box
11. Click SAVE

Now just upload that new file to your website!

4. Why do photos seem to load slowly?

Becuase of the file size of photos, your pages can take longer than you would expect to load. An average webpage may be 60k, just one image in your photo album may be 200k. Plus you add the size of the page and the theme's graphics, another 60k, your browser ends up having to load 260k in stead of just 60k, over 4 times the average size. This means it will take longer to load and if you are on a dial-up Net connection, it can take up to a couple minutes to load.

This is not an issue with your website, but an issue with how fast your Net connection is. Your PC speed and how fast your web browser can render the data can also been an issue.

5. I am still having photo upload problems

If you still are experiencing problems, please e-mail a problem photo to photos@ewedding.com with your User ID and where you want the image. We will let you know if a problem is found. We can upload up to 10 photos for free to your account. Uploads after 10 are $10 for 10 uploads.

6. How do I enable or disable the photo thumbnails on sub pages?

Most themes will allow you to put random thumbnails from your photo albums on the other pages of your website. You can enable and disable this feature on your photo setup page.
7. How many photos can I upload?

You can upload thousands of photos and create multiple photo albums.
8. How do I create and manage a new photo album?

To create a new custom photo album, go to your photo setup page in your control panel and click the 'Manage' button. You then enter a name and description for your album and clcik the 'Save Album' button. You can then scroll down to the album you want to add photos too and click the blue 'Edit Photos' button. On that page you can add photos and comments or reorganize and delete photos.
